Update 11/17: The first beta of Infuse 4 for Apple TV has been sent out to beta testers! Please share feedback in the beta thread in our discussion forum. While we still can't accommodate everyone, we can at least get it into the hands of a few more people. Update 11/10: Following Apple's announcement today that increases the TestFlight limit from 1,000 to 2,000 testers, we've sent out a second round of beta emails. Infuse for Apple TV (beta)Įmails are being sent out today to all those who made it into the beta group (be sure to check your spam folder - just in case). The amount of interest we received for the Infuse beta was truly staggering, and unfortunately while we'd love to accommodate everyone, there are limits to how many beta testers TestFlight will allow us to have. If you don't get an email today, you can expect to use the official version of Infuse very soon. We're also happy to announce that Infuse 4 for Apple TV will be a free update for all current (v3) Infuse Pro users. We think what we've made is really great and we can't wait to share it with you very soon. But that's just me.As you can imagine, it's been a very busy fall here, to say the least. However, we're now (finally!) starting to see a beautiful bright light at the end of the tunnel, and that light is coming into form as Infuse 4 for Apple TV. After using the FireTV and Shield, being able to out of the box install whatever app I want. Loved it for years, had no problems until I got a 4K TV, and that's when I upgraded to the Shield. And so I jumped ship again to the FireTV. But then I got tired of using two boxes instead of one, as did my wife. ![]() I had a jailbroken AppleTV 2 for years before I switched to a Raspberry Pi running OpenELEC + AppleTV 3 simply because I wanted 1080p. Personally, the AppleTV is just a no go for me because it's too locked down. so we're not even talking 4K let alone HDR. the AppleTV can handle the HEVC video stream, no problem here. Users running Infuse 4, 5 or 6 are offered a free year of Infuse Pro if they upgrade to version 7. The company said that Infuse 7 (also the new Mac app) is included with an Infuse Pro subscription. This means: The video and audio tracks are extracted from the original file The Plex Media Server repackages the content on-the-fly before streaming it. Unlike for example Plex, which uses the server, Infuse uses the player to decode/transcode video files, meaning your Apple TV, iPad/iPhone or Mac. i tried using mkv & m2ts file which is Dolby atmos format but unfortunately it does work in infuse 6 pro with jellyfin media server. Yes, the Shield is among many boxes that has issues with the most demanding media. In this case, the file can be Direct Streamed to your device. LOL - way better fanboy, you have to be kidding ! Apple spatial audio takes 5.1, 7.1 and Dolby Atmos signals and applies directional audio filters, adjusting the frequencies that each ear hears so that sounds can be placed virtually anywhere in 3D space.
